[Bug 288406] New: No network on Asus P5B
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=288406 Summary: No network on Asus P5B Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kkaempf@novell.com ReportedBy: ma2412ma@hotmail.com QAContact: kkaempf@novell.com Found By: --- I have an Asus P5B mainboard with an onboard Realtek "RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 01)". However, the kernel module r8169 is not working. The output of dmesg states: # dmesg eth0: RTL8168b/8111b at 0xf9506000, 00:1a:92:76:d8:75, IRQ 177 r8169 Gigabit Ethernet driver 2.2LK-NAPI loaded r8169: eth0: link down ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready The problem is known and the developer of the kernel module is informed, but maybe some of you guys at Novell can help? I guess I'm not the only one with an Asus P5B running Linux. http://marc.info/?l=linux-netdev&m=118008423101828&w=1 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

From the memory address I suppose Hans is using 32bits while I'm using 64bits. I don't know what this "-NAPI" difference means. My card is linked to a 10Mbps HUB, and also is a "(rev 01)".
