[Bug 1195406] New: Bitcoin Core client in Leap fails to fully process chain state
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1195406 Bug ID: 1195406 Summary: Bitcoin Core client in Leap fails to fully process chain state Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.3 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: screening-team-bugs@suse.de Reporter: marix@marix.org QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 855777 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=855777&action=edit Screenshot of the versionbit 2 error message on Leap 15.3 The Bitcoin Core client in Leap 15.3 (package bitcoin-qt5) is to old to parse the latest block versions that are on the Bitcoin Core chain. Thus, it prints a warning (roughly translated from German, see attached screen shot): Warning, unknown new rules activated (versionbit 2) Expected behaviour would be for the Bitcoin Core client in Leap to be able to process all block versions that can be found on Bitcoin Core's main chain. As per my understanding this would require updating Bitcoin Core to version 0.21.1 or later which introduced the taproot soft fork. This feature is indicated by this version bit, see https://bitcoin.org/en/releases/0.21.1/. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I wonder why we didn't get the usual automated notifications on the bug ticket for the shipped updates, though. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
