Which kind of sleep? Suspend-To-Ram or Suspend-To-Disk? Could you attach complete /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /etc/X11/xorg.conf?
I think it should be Suspend-to-ram, cause I just leave the pc alone, after several minutes it run gnome-screensaver, then few minute the display LCD was black. After that, for a while, the keyboard no response. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

So you don't know it. Please figure this out first. It should be possible for you to trigger a Suspend-to-ram/Suspend-to-disk by intention. Isn't it a little worrying that a user application can kill X by (supposably) issuing a DPMS call?
First we would need to verify this. Is it really a DPMS call, which one, etc.
Also: Isn't it a little worrying that X dies on some `xset dpms` call if xorg.conf says DPMS "disable" ? If this is unrelated we can handle this in a separate report.
Yes, please let's handle this seperately. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Also, to make sure it is the same bug, please try (after getting the log :-) setting, in g-p-m preferences, the display to never sleep when on battery. This is the code triggering the error for me Same here. I encounter this issue when g-p-m puts display to sleep. If I set display to never sleep this issue is not encountered.

from bug 443409 I discovered the following.
Set the screen saver to blank screen after 1 min. set the power management options to disable the screen after 2 min. Once the screen is disabled, it doesn't come back.
the following is in the Xorg.0.log
[mi] EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an infinite loop. [mi] mieqEnequeue: out-of-order valuator event; dropping. [mi] EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an infinite loop. [mi] mieqEnequeue: out-of-order valuator event; dropping.

I tried the driver indicated in comment#59.
Driver? It's an X Server change.
The error messages in xorg.conf go away, but it still seems impossible to unlock X.
Error message in xorg.conf? This is a config file. Are you mixing it up with Xorg.0.log, the logfile of the X Server? Which error message?
I've no idea what an evdev driver is. There's nothing of that name in my xorg.conf if that answers your question.
It's an alternative to commonly used mouse/kbd driver. Ok. So you don't use it.
