[Bug 712231] New: Screen totally scrambled during login process using KDM
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=712231 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=712231#c0 Summary: Screen totally scrambled during login process using KDM Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: suse@christian-reiner.info QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=445803) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=445803) Screenshot taken with a digicam User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0 I use a plain and up to date opensuse-11.4 Installation on a Apple MacBook Pro (x86-64). Proprietary NVidia driver with a solution of 1920x1600 (native for that system). All works smooth and perfect except one thing: During the login process (using KDM) the scrren becomes totally "scambled" for a while. That is after pressing "Login" and before the desktop fades in (which it does as expected and without and problems or artefacts. The artefacts shown inbetween appear to be uninitialised parts of video memory. For a login right after a cold start the look is reproduceable as shown in the attachment. For a login directly after a logout (without booting) the artefacts show scrambled parts of what was shown on the screen in the last session. This is a serious thing, since this is a clear violation of privacy. Pieces of pictures, login credentials and stuff... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot or login, so you get the KDM login screen 2. enter login credentials 3. hit "Login" Actual Results: Screen becomes "scrambled" as described above until the expected desktop fades in. Expected Results: Background as configured. Though this appears more a less a cosmetic aspect it is actually severe, since optical parts of a previous private session are exposed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
