http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=595292 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=595292#c0 Summary: update applet attemps to run while there is no network and complains Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: carlos.e.r@opensuse.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- I have a laptop that is often off internet. Nevertheless, I get several times a day a popup complaining that there is no network and please check settings - there is no mention about which program is complaining or what settings it is talking about. I know that it is the update applet, of course. Obviously, I know I have no network and there is nothing to configure (except perhaps never check for updates). It would be preferable if the applet kept silence and simply tried, silently, some other time. Perhaps change color of the icon and leave information there, but do not interrupt the user. Some things could be configurable. The hour for checking could be configurable, for example. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
