Install using the ncurses interface 1. next --> next --> next :) 2. select "text mode only" installation 3. in the next screen, change --> software --> fitter by pattern, the try to deselect apparmor.. ir does not work. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Tried with ncurses interface - and it fails for me as well. Katharina, I suggest you try to reproduce this yourself. I'm attaching a screenshot, it shows that I try to press "-" to disable the pattern but it will not work. Adding logfiles is mood IMO since this action might not show up in the logs. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254816 ------- Comment #6 from kmachalkova@novell.com 2007-03-21 04:43 MST ------- Is this specific to AppArmor pattern ? Or does it happen with all patterns selected automatically for installation (marked 'a+')? Does this happen during installation only, or can I somehow reproduce on the installed system as well (yes, I'm lazy ;-) )? Did you try to deselect pattern pressing '-' only, or did you toggle it by SPACE key? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254816 ------- Comment #7 from aj@novell.com 2007-03-21 04:57 MST ------- I tried SPACE as well. I only tested AppArmor and not the others. Just boot a system up, you do not need to install anything, just boot from the installation media. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254816 kmachalkova@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |ASSIGNED ------- Comment #8 from kmachalkova@novell.com 2007-03-21 05:40 MST ------- I've just did. For the 'leaf' patterns (i.e. those where solver does not grumble about broken dependencies, when one selects not to install them) such as AA, or Games, Qt UI does the following transition on toggling: auto-install-> taboo -> do not install. Is that expected behaviour? Anyway, seems that transition auto-install -> taboo does not work in ncurses. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254816 ------- Comment #9 from kmachalkova@novell.com 2007-03-21 08:33 MST ------- So here's full explanation of what is happening here: If you press '-' key on a pattern marked for automatic installation (AppArmor, for example), its status is set to do-not-install. But it is then pulled back by consecutive solver run, because some other pattern requires it (that's why it was marked as auto-install before). Therefore, it is marked as auto-install again and it seems as if nothing has changed. In conclusion, if you want to get rid of a pattern, you should use SPACE key for toggling its state. As soon as I fix y2-ncurses, of course, because as mentioned in comment #8, now the transition auto-install -> taboo does not work. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
