On Machine #1 I did a new Installation from DVD using snapshot 20140630. On machine #2 I had openSUSE 13.1 running using tumbleweed and did a zypper dup after enabling the factory repos. When opening system settings -> Fonts or Firefox the fonts are unreadable. I have a screenshot attached. If you need more info, please let me know. Please create an attachment using one of your /var/log/Xorg.0.log files (or both separately), and provide in comment both the output from 'lspci | grep VGA' for each installation, and the model number(s) of your display(s). Attachments don't seem to work right now. The output of lspci for both systems is:

Does the problem exist if you log into IceWM or TWM instead of KDE?
I tried both an Yes, not only does it persist but it gets even worse because with both WMs there is not even a readable systemfont. My systems have a different locale: The Factory DVD Installtion is en-us und the other on is de-de. Both show the same font problem. 2. On the former Tumbleweed installation I downgraded to Tumbleweed and the font problems were gone.
