https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=243453 Summary: Bios update breaks suspend2ram on Dell Inspiron 6400 Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ciriarte@personal.net.py QAContact: qa@suse.de Hi, i have a Dell Inspiron 6400 running a Core 2 Duo T5600. It's running openSUSE 10.2 x86_64, after installation i could suspend and resume (although wlan and audio weren't working after resuming). Then i updated the bios from A09 to A12 (changelog made references to battery problems) and the suspend2ram option stopped working, all i get is this: ------------------Begin----------------------- Preparing suspend... Freezing cpus ... CPU 1 is now offline CPU1 is down Stopping tasks: ================================================================ =================| ------------------End----------------------- Already tried the suggestions from http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram Any ideas?, the kernel is up to date (according to yast): kernel-default-2.6.18.2-34 (last entry on the changelog: 27/Nov/2006) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=243453 ------- Comment #3 from ciriarte@personal.net.py 2007-02-12 17:03 MST ------- After 2 weeks with the issue, suspend2ram just worked this weekend, the last patches applied are from Friday night (GMT-4). Tried to suspend and resume many times and only once i couldn't resume. Is there anything else I should check to make sure it's solved before closing the ticket? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I'd call Dell and tell them their bios is acting strangely. (Setting as WORKSFORME because bug magically went away). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
