[Bug 1146178] Local authentication broken after upgrade to Leap 15.0
http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1146178 http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1146178#c14 --- Comment #14 from Gösta Ljungdahl <gostal@foi.se> --- Fair enough, but as this was something that happened to many machines on our network and not just on upgrades but also updates it is my feeling that it may happen again under similar local network and network authentication setups. On the other hand the risk should grow smaller by the day as more and more networks come to rely on sssd. (Not that it's going to happen here any day soon. My network admin won't make any changes as long as LDAP/kerberos works. Now also Ubuntu and CentOS are the supported distros. Ubuntu for the desktops and CentOS for the servers. I have CentOS on my desktop, though, since I have to run proprietary software compiled for RHEL.) Perhaps it would be wise to give some sort of caution in the documentation and/or wiki and advise people to make backups of the relevant files if they believe the risk is significant. Given the amount of work to sort things out if you don't have a clue it could be a good idea to make backups even if the risk is small. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
