[Bug 225699] New: Switch "Start menu style", click Apply -> dialog disappears
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=225699 Summary: Switch "Start menu style", click Apply -> dialog disappears Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: mmarek@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de 1) Right click the KDE panel, select "Configure Panel..." 2) In "Menus", switch between KDE/SUSE "Start menu style" 3) Click "Apply" - this restarts the panel (?), but doesn't bring the dialog back, so "Apply" behaves like "OK" in this case. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=225699 ------- Comment #1 from stbinner@novell.com 2006-12-04 03:16 MST ------- Restarting the panel closes configuration panel started from it, always did. If you call the configuration panel via kcontrol it will not happen. Fixing this would require a rather big change within Kickoff source code so I guess it's a WONTFIX. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I'd like to propose a change that would probably be easy to implement ;-) Pseudocode: if (standalone_config_dialog()) { hide_apply_button(); # restart would make it work like "OK" } This doesn't fix the restart problem (which might really be difficult), but at least it fixes the usability problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
