What's the point of entering this duplicate? Once the root cause of 851244 is found, the fix will surely also be applied to master. How am I supposed to know for sure that this is duplicate?

If you want to be sure, look at (or provide) the hypervisor log.
And yes, that other bug looks similar too, but also lacks the confirming hypervisor log. Since vm was installed using libxl/libvirtd, only log I know about is /var/log/libvirt/libxl/openSUSE-Factory.log which is already attached.

Yes. The hypervisor and tools are the same. The kernel is different but likely updated with fixes.
