[Bug 801760] New: yast configurations for postfix are not applied to /etc/postfix configuration files
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=801760 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=801760#c0 Summary: yast configurations for postfix are not applied to /etc/postfix configuration files Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: tibirna@kde.org QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.22 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/25.0.1362.0 Safari/537.22 SUSE/25.0.1362.0 I traditionally set "relayhost=my.local.network" and "nullclient=yes" in YaST>System>/etc/sysconfig>Network>Mail>Postfix and apply them. I can then go in /etc/sysconfig/postfix and inspect the file visually, and see that my configurations are well recorded. But then looking into /etc/postfix/main.cf and /etc/postfix/master.cf, I see "relayhost=" and I see that "smtp" and "local" services are *not* commented out. This is dangerous, as it then silently fails to route local e-mail as purposedly configuref. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. change a config in YaST>System>/etc/sysconfig>Network>Mail>Postfix 2. apply it 3. check that the modif is saved in /etc/sysconfig/postfix 4. check that the appropriate modifs *are not* done in /etc/postfix/* Actual Results: The /etc/postfix/* files are not modified Expected Results: Configuration modifications should be applied. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If you modify /etc/sysconfig/postfix even manualy or with yast2 system --- you have to call SuSEconfig.postfix (since 13.1 config.postfix) manualy. Only yast2-mail calls this script automaticaly. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
