[Bug 876277] New: Bluetooth audio device not recognized by pulseaudio
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=876277 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=876277#c0 Summary: Bluetooth audio device not recognized by pulseaudio Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@suse.com ReportedBy: quentin@links2linux.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0 I have an issue with bluetooth audio. A couple of months ago when I first tried my bluetooth audio receiver (Philipps BT) everything worked out of the box. Now, probably due to one of the numerous updates, the BT device is not added to pulseaudio when it is paired. I suspect pulseaudio-module-bluetooth to be missing, but since it is the first time I dig into that issue, I am not sure if this was required back when it still worked. modprobe: FATAL: Module module-bluetooth-discover not found. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. connect to paired BT device 2. check in pavucontrol: no output device added -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Try to downgrade the whole packages related with pulseaudio and bluez, at first. BTW, modprobe is only for the kernel module. It has nothing to do with pulseaudio modules. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Would you please provide your Bluetooth device info here? ex: #lsusb -v , #hciconfig -a ,and on [bluetoothctl] use "#show" and "#info 00:1D:DF:E4:7D:88" btw, What Desktop environment do you use ? The other outputs are below. I have found out that the issue is related to bluetooth (and not pulseaudio) because hcidump showed a PIN error. In fact, I have configured my audio device wih bluedevil which seems to have some issues with PINs. However, manual configuration with bluetoothctl works but does not survive a system standby/resume. I always have to delete the device and re-pair it. linux-v3k0:/home/quentin # hciconfig -a hci0: Type: BR/EDR Bus: USB BD Address: 00:24:2C:BF:33:03 ACL MTU: 1021:8 SCO MTU: 64:1 UP RUNNING PSCAN ISCAN RX bytes:149293 acl:23 sco:0 events:20843 errors:0 TX bytes:33590935 acl:40352 sco:0 commands:285 errors:0 Features: 0xff 0xff 0x8f 0xfe 0x9b 0xff 0x79 0x83 Packet type: DM1 DM3 DM5 DH1 DH3 DH5 HV1 HV2 HV3 Link policy: RSWITCH HOLD SNIFF PARK Link mode: SLAVE ACCEPT Name: 'linux.site-0' Class: 0x1c010c Service Classes: Rendering, Capturing, Object Transfer Device Class: Computer, Laptop HCI Version: 2.1 (0x4) Revision: 0x518f LMP Version: 2.1 (0x4) Subversion: 0x424c Manufacturer: Broadcom Corporation (15) linux-v3k0:/home/quentin # bluetoothctl [NEW] Controller 00:24:2C:BF:33:03 linux.site-0 [default] [NEW] Device 00:1D:DF:E4:7D:88 PhilipsBT [bluetooth]# show Controller 00:24:2C:BF:33:03 Name: linux-v3k0.site Alias: linux.site-0 Class: 0x1c010c Powered: yes Discoverable: yes Pairable: yes UUID: PnP Information (00001200-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb) UUID: Generic Access Profile (00001800-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb) UUID: Generic Attribute Profile (00001801-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb) UUID: A/V Remote Control (0000110e-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb) UUID: A/V Remote Control Target (0000110c-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb) UUID: Phonebook Access Server (0000112f-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb) UUID: OBEX File Transfer (00001106-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb) UUID: OBEX Object Push (00001105-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb) UUID: Audio Source (0000110a-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb) UUID: Audio Sink (0000110b-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb) Modalias: usb:v1D6Bp0246d0508 Discovering: yes [bluetooth]# info 00:1D:DF:E4:7D:88 Device 00:1D:DF:E4:7D:88 Name: PhilipsBT Alias: PhilipsBT Class: 0x240404 Icon: audio-card Paired: yes Trusted: yes Blocked: no Connected: yes LegacyPairing: no UUID: Audio Sink (0000110b-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb) [CHG] Device 70:D4:F2:3A:7B:C4 RSSI: -76 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Bluez cannot reconnect to paired devices after system suspend 2. Bluetooth PIN is not handled correctly in the bluedevil KDE applet The issue is therefore not resolved but I know it is not related to pulseaudio and I there is a workaround (reboot system instead of suspend). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
