[Bug 219758] New: snd-opl3sa2.ko does not work because opl3sa2.ko grabs the device
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=219758 Summary: snd-opl3sa2.ko does not work because opl3sa2.ko grabs the device Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 2 Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: zoz@novell.com ReportedBy: mvidner@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: tiwai@novell.com I have Toshiba Portege 3020CT, a 1999 laptop. While trying to find out why sound did not work, I found out that the OSS module opl3sa2 gets autoloaded and prevents the ALSA module snd-opl3sa2 from working. (Thanks to Takashi for the help at the Labs conference.) Adding opl3sa2 to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist (sysconfig.rpm) has fixed it. I think that it is omitted just by mistake and should be included there by default. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
