[Bug 221608] New: vim: colors present, even when disabled
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=221608 Summary: vim: colors present, even when disabled Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 2 plus Platform: 32bit OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: kssingvo@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de In 10.2 you get colors, even if they shouldn't be present. I explicity disabled syntax highlighting ":syntax off" and disabled showing matching brackets ":set noshowmatch" (or just: ":set nosm"). But nevetheless vim highlights the matching closing bracket, if standing on an open bracket. This is not, what I want to have: disabling showmatch should not show any matching bracket. Disabling syntax should not show any colors at all. The help ":help options" doesn't show any other variable regarding bracket to disable this feature. This is a very annoying behavior. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Second, the showmatch option has nothing to do with highlighting matching brackets. This jumps to the matching bracket for a short time on insertion of a bracket. The feature responsible for highlighting is the matchparen.vim plugin, this seems to be enabled in any case. Once I have found out how to disable this, I'll let you know. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

To disable the plugin after it was loaded use this command: :NoMatchParen And to enable it again: :DoMatchParen -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
