On my systems starting OOo works fine on gnome and kde x86_64 systems. So, additional information about your environment (OOo packages installed, Is compiz enabled, are you using third party binary drivers for your video card?) is going to be needed to be added to this bug to move any further with this bug report. Here is a link that describes what is usually needed as a minimum for a bug report to be useful: http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:OOo If you could also try to reproduce the issue with the latest packages from the build service Stable repo for openSUSE 11.0 that would be very helpful. Windows 2000 disturbs Linux 11.0 and his boot-system GRUB! The difference of the architecture of Windows 2000 and Suse-Novell-Linux 11.0 is too large. Further: Suse/Novell-Linux 10.3 I installed this system new (with Apache, Development ..) on a harddisk with a volume of 30 GB (15 GB for Linux, shared with 15 GB for Windows with GRUB) successfull. For Suse/Novell-Linux 11.0 too small space for new installing the minimal system! So I installed Suse/Novell-Linux 11.0 and Windows XP (SP2) on a harddisk with a large volume (400 GB) and all runs without any problems! But: When you buy openSuse 11.0 in Germany, you read on the package with the DVD's and the manual-book the minimal system conditions for installing Linux 11.0: Space for harddisk 500 MB, recommended 3 GB (!).
