[Bug 460980] New: systemsettings does not configure NTP time correctly
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=460980 Summary: systemsettings does not configure NTP time correctly Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: spam@kian.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Community User
From a terminal window as root, execute /usr/bin/systemsettings. In section "Computer Administration" click the "Time & Date" icon. Check the checkbox "Set date and time automatically" and enter a server in the dropdown list. Click "Apply". In the terminal, you get a message on stderr saying that ntpdate is deprecated and replaced by ntpd.
Additionally, ntpdate is used for a single manual sync and not for keeping time synced. So next time you go to the same dialog, the checkbox has been cleared so you can manually sync again if you like. But no NTP daemon. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
