I use XFS partitions. I have been getting a warning about the system might not be able to boot with /boot on and XFS partition. Both GRUB and openSUSE are configured to boot ton XFS partitions. Please update installer so that it does not warn about partitions that the distro supports at boot. Thank you. Dave W Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install opensuse 2. Right, it boots. But XFS is known to sometimes move blocks on the disk, which can cause bootloader to stop booting. THe fact that it does not happen to you does not mean it does not happen at all. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The default choice to install GRUB is in to the MBR. The error should only come up if the option to install into sector 0 of a partition if that partition that needs sector 0. What I say is that even if you have properly installed GRUB on XFS, then at any point of time XFS can move data blocks on the disk, resulting your system unbootable (e.g. in order to reduce fragmentation). It can happen after months of system booting without problems, however, there are known cases when this really happens. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
