These basis were first defined in YaST DNS and DHCP server. If the style guide 'wins' it makes sense to change those dialogs, otherwise changing the style guide should be considered. About the DNS/DHCP: try to add or edit the zone (resource records). BTW: Moreover, for instance a dialog with DNS zones: There is a "Add New Zone" part of the dialog with [Add] button and additional fields that make adding a zone easy. This zone then appears in the table below and you can [Delete] or [Edit] it by buttons on the right of the table. Yes, this doesn't obey rules defined in the "Table" style guide conventions but makes it easier for the user. That's what firewall exactly uses. So, there are at least three modules that use the same approach and layout in similar tasks. I currently don't know of any other but ... Additionally, there are no "100 other that would use [Add] [Edit] [Delete]". So, the numbers are different. The other issue we have to take care about is the speed. Users want to do their job fast and not to be limited by a style guide. If there is a faster approach, the particular style guide part has to be discussed again because it seems that not all possibilities were taken into account. There advantages on both sides: 1.) Only one way of adding things (records, hardware) (Which is confusing in case of network cards, for instance, where [Edit] is the correct button but users logically keep hitting Add instead) 2.)
