Nvidia has yet to release the newer module to their repo to match the latest kernel update. My machine was unresponsive to keyboard input when entering init 5 (I couldn't go directly to a console (ctrl+alt+f1)). Had to reboot to enter init 3, compile nvidia module, then init 5.
