On the other hand, the latest Plasma version includes several fixes in multi-monitor support. That version, 5.8.0, is shipped in openSUSE Leap 42.2 beta 3 (published today). So it could be great if you can try if the problem still persists with this new version.

Yes, I have multi-monitor system (2 displays). Disabling the secondary display helps. I did update to Beta 3, and yast still crashes with two monitors enabled. Crashes occur only in 'Software Management' module, everything else works fine.
