[Bug 999098] New: no elantech touchpad while installation (as long as set in BIOS to advanced)
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=999098 Bug ID: 999098 Summary: no elantech touchpad while installation (as long as set in BIOS to advanced) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: me@xto.de QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hi, I tried to install openSUSE 42.2 beta on my new Acer TravelMate B116 Notebook. It has an elantech i2c touchpad installed which works after installation but not in the installation setup. If I change (in BIOS) the touchpad setting from Advanced to Basic it works in both situations. I read that there is an initialisation problem (after working in ps2-mode it isnt working in i2c mode). Might be a little hint for those of you with the big knowledge :-) greetings and thanks for a new version :-) Christian -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

[ 9.846] (--) Log file renamed from "/var/log/Xorg.pid-1264.log" to "/var/log/Xorg.0.log"
Just to make sure. Is this logfile from installed system (touchpad working) or from installation system (touchpad not working)? In the logfile I see that sysnpatics driver is being used for the touchpad. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

The logfile is not from the System while Installation is running and touchpad not working!
I'm not sure if I'm getting this right! So the logfile is from installed and running system and touchpad *working*? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
