That was it! There was a copy in /usr/local/bin/mpv, although I'm not sure how it got there (or why it was prioritized). I deleted that and then re-installed via zypper, and it's working now.

/usr/local is prioritized over /usr in your PATH, and files are generally put there if you built some software yourself but didn't specify a prefix.
