[Bug 231496] New: partitioning on disk /dev/cciss/c0d0 is not readable

You can use the partitions on disk /dev/cciss/c0d0 as they are. You can format them and assign mount points to them, but you cannot add, edit, resize or remove partitions from the disk with this tool." If I drop down to console (alt-F2 at the language selection screen) I can mount the partitions without error. As there are a number of settings I have made to the existing system I wish _not_ to have todo a fresh install. According to bug: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=219496 this was fixed for stable/SLES/SLED but apparently _did not_ make it into 10.2 final. This clearly is not a driver issue as I can mount the partitions, therefore the problem most likely still resides in parted. Is there any workaround or am I _forced_ to perform a fresh install? Maybe some side effect prevents the update. Since I do not have access to such a machine I cannot test this myself. You can simply confirm the error popup and try if update path is usable. I tried an update from openSUSE 10.1 to openSUSE 10.2. What the error message tells is not true. parted can read the partition table. It is not possible to use the partitions on the disk as they are, so an update is not possible. I have attached the installation logs and the output of parted. B.
