[Bug 1231632] New: DRBD driver not updated with new kernel
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1231632 Bug ID: 1231632 Summary: DRBD driver not updated with new kernel Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Slowroll Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Upgrade Problems Assignee: screening-team-bugs@suse.de Reporter: richard@richandsteph.co.uk QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Target Milestone: --- Found By: --- Blocker: --- A recent Slowroll update bought in a new Kernel, 6.11.2-1-default. Following that, drbdadm command fails with: --- # drbdadm -h DRBD kernel driver version 8.4 detected. This drbdadm was built without support for drbd kernel code 8.4. Consider to upgrade your DRBD kernel driver. Or rebuild your user land tools and configure --with-84support ... --- This prevents DRBD devices being setup. The current DRBD kernel driver for Slowroll is drbd-kmp-default-9.1.16_k6.10.9_1-8.1.x86_64; this installs the following modules for the 6.10.9.1 kernel. /usr/lib/modules/6.10.9-1-default/updates/drbd.ko /usr/lib/modules/6.10.9-1-default/updates/drbd_transport_tcp.ko Installing the Tumbleweed/Factory version from https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Factory/standard/x86_64... allows DRBD to work again by installing: /usr/lib/modules/6.11.2-1-default/updates/drbd.ko /usr/lib/modules/6.11.2-1-default/updates/drbd_transport_tcp.ko I don't know enough about the Slowroll build process but I'm assuming some sort of dependency is required so that if the kernel is refreshed, additional kernel modules from separate packages also get refreshed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
