[Bug 916048] built-in speakers do not play sound after connecting and disconnecting headphones

--- Comment #4 from Troels Just
Thanks for testing. That's what I somehow expected. We have already received multiple bug reports with Thinkpad & co, indeed, and I guess all the same cause.
If possible, could you try the latest version of PA in OBS multimedia:libs repo (6.0-rc3)? I'm afraid that we can't take it as the maintenance update for openSUSE 13.2 even if it "fixes", but at least it's helpful to know whether the problem still persists with the latest upstream.
Just to note, both of my friends, who experience this PulseAudio issue, are using ThinkPad laptops, one is a T520 another is T20. Also, I have now tested the newer PulseAudio version that you specified. I installed openSUSE 13.2 on a ThinkPad T420 to test. The problem does NOT occur with that one! To be more specific, with 6.0-RC3 when I plug in the headphones it mutes the speakers and unmutes the headphones, and when I unplug the headphones, the headphones get muted and speakers unmuted. Exactly the behavour one would expect. I also tried testing this with my TV and DisplayPort, however the newer version of PulseAudio introduces a new problem in regard to this. DisplayPort Audio seems to be broken with 6.0-RC3. So hopefully, whatever fix contained in 6.0-RC3 for the correct muting/unmuting behaviour can be backported to openSUSE 13.2. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
