[Bug 465168] New: XEN does not seem to work with Nivida driver, no screen found
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=465168 Summary: XEN does not seem to work with Nivida driver, no screen found Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Xen AssignedTo: cgriffin@novell.com ReportedBy: vendion@charter.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US) AppleWebKit/525.19 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/1.0.154.43 Safari/525.19 Build Identifier: When booting into XEN on my machine with a Nivida 8200 graphics card, using the proprietary driver, X does not start. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot into XEN 2. Wait for X to start (which does not), or login to a user at a virtual terminal 3. Try to use "startx" to bring up X Actual Results: I received an error when running startx about how it can not find a screen on the system. Expected Results: X.org should have loaded. I don't know if this is exactly a XEN problem or a issue with Nivida driver, but this has rendered XEN useless for me. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

In any case do we not support the closed source driver anyway, so you would need to turn to nVidia for help on getting it to work under Xen. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
