[Bug 749440] New: KDE filemanager is lost in Thunderbird with Update to version 10
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=749440 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=749440#c0 Summary: KDE filemanager is lost in Thunderbird with Update to version 10 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: steffeneibicht@yahoo.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=478468) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=478468) screenshot of the filemanager User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:10.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.2 As described in Bug #746591 (for Firefox), also Thunderbird has lost the integration in KDE. Running openSUSE 12.1 with default KDE (4.7.2) and after an update, to Thunderbird 10, it defaults to some Gnome-ish "save file as" dialog when saving attachments. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. save attachment 2. save attachment 3. save attachment Actual Results: After the normal System-update, where Thunderbird also was updated, it defaults to this Gnome-Filemanager Expected Results: Thunderbird should use the KDE "save file as" dialog This issue was discussed in the openSUSE forum http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/applications/4728... would be great if this could be fixed. I am sure that I did not have an AddOn (I just have a different theme and Lightning, and I disabled both to check if it does any difference), but to be honest, I am also not really sure anymore if T-Bird had the KDE Filemanager in the past for saving Attachments. Maybe it just came to my attention because of the Firefox issue. If there was no integration in KDE for Thunderbird, can we do a feature request? Maybe change this Bugreport into a feature request, or should I write a new one? I have experimental builds available but I do not run KDE anywhere so it could fail completely still (I'm confident it works partially though). So basically if you or anyone else helps proper testing and give feedback I'd try to provide something useful. Feel free to ask for early adopters on the forums and drop me a line in private mail so I can sum up how and what to test (also possible in german). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Within mozilla:experimental there is a package MozillaThunderbird. (default note to make: you have to include the mozilla repository as a base in addition to fulfill some dependencies; this is basically NSPR and NSS which are basically "no-risk".) It is identical to the normal package in mozilla:beta (therefore it's currently version 11.0b4) but has the KDE specific changes to Gecko/Toolkit. Please note that Firefox has some browser specific changes in addition (read: more changes). I'm not a KDE user so I'm not sure what KDE specific changes we need in addition to those applied to core already. So what I would need to know: - does it work at all? - what stuff still is not really KDEish compared to Firefox? - is there any issue with running Firefox and Thunderbird in parallel (as both are using kmozillahelper for their actions)? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
