[Bug 267886] New: The module `inst_finish does not work
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=267886 Summary: The module `inst_finish does not work Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 3 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: gp@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com While updating my STABLE workstation two weeks ago, I got an error message of "The module 'inst_finish' does not work"; screenshot to follow in a minute. The problem itself is gone, it seems, but I'd like to propose a somewhat more concrete error message such as "Failure to invoke the YasT 'inst_finish" module or whatever the problem really was. Note that there is an extra backtick before inst_finish in the current error message, so even if changing nothing else, this is something to address. ;-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=267886 ------- Comment #3 from locilka@novell.com 2007-05-03 06:20 MST ------- This is a new part of code that handles the error: r = Popup::ModuleError ( sformat ( // TRANSLATORS: an error message // this should not happen, but life is cruel... // %1 - (failed) module name // %2 - logfile, possibly with errors // %3 - link to our bugzilla // %4 - directory where YaST logs are stored "Calling the YaST module %1 has failed. More information can be found near the end of the '%2' file. This is worth reporting a bug at %3. Please, attach also all YaST logs stored in the '%4' directory.", symbolof (argterm), "/var/log/YaST2/y2log", "http://bugzilla.novell.com/", "/var/log/YaST2/" ) ); Anyway, the needinfo still remains. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=267886 ------- Comment #6 from gp@novell.com 2007-05-10 16:13 MST ------- Thanks, Lukas. I had looked into comment #3 right away but then wanted to try and reproduce the issue before clearing NEEDINFO, but failed so far. The new code looks like a _very_ nice improvement, thanks! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
