[Bug 1231110] 1-click install ymp fails to open
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1231110 https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1231110#c2 --- Comment #2 from Stefan Hundhammer <shundhammer@suse.com> --- Having said that, I know from many years of my own experience that the browser integration of those .ymp files seldom work. For many years, I have been using the Opera browser, so this is hardly surprising: It's a SUSE extension to the Firefox and Chromium (?) browsers that we ship with openSUSE / SLE distros. I am not sure, but I think this is a configuration that comes with one of the branding packages; MozillaFirefox-branding-openSUSE comes to mind. You might have chosen not to install some or all of those branding packages; it's largely a matter of taste if they make your user experience better or worse. Since I tend to tweak my Internet browsers (including Firefox) a lot, as well as my desktop environment (Xfce in my case), I am not surprised that this pretty much never works for me. What does work, however, is to download the .ymp to file and click on it; that should start the YaST One Click Installer. And there are also 'OneClickInstallUI' and 'OneClickInstallCLI' from the yast2-metapackage-handler package; but they take a remote URL as their argument: sudo OneClickInstallCLI https://software.opensuse.org/ymp/home:shundhammer:qdirstat-stable/openSUSE_... And this is what the browser should use; if it is configured correctly, that is, meaning that it should have an association between the .ymp MIME type and this action. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
