Green message screen appears in lower right panel "Retrieving Folder contents", please wait. still there after 20 minutes. This started after last update of KDE. to Version KDE 3.7.3 release "10", previous release did not have problem. Folder says it has 9 new messages and 10 saved messages. Using MySQL database since kontact and kmail started using DB. Maildir has mail in it /home/finemanruss/.kde4/share/apps/kmail/mail, also when I try to delete trash from kmail nothing happens. have stopped and started akonadi. resource look configured Ok. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start kmail and download new messages 2. select message to display in lower right panel 3. lower right panel turns green, with message described under details 4. Wait nothing happens, finally just shutdown kmail and resort to using SeaMonkey to see mail. Into this I have imported my emails which are divided into about 75 folders and sub-folders. There are over 11,000 mails in all. KMail struggles and often gives me the green panel mentioned here. I have been moving about between folders and messages trying to establish some pattern. Folders with very few messages, 4 or 11 for example, will usually show their current message immediately or after a pause of about 1 to 2 seconds. Sometimes, when switching from a folder with the green panel, they may jam in green panel mode. Then I can move to another small folder and back to see the mails. One folder has a latest message that will not display. It is only a small message, 9.1kB, but it is as if the message body has gone walkabout. If I move to the previous message, that is displayed fine provided I select it, move to a small folder and then back again. It looks to me as if the retrieval engine in the background is working away like mad but when it fails to get to the end of a search, it then gets stuck. The stuck state is either on the green panel of a completely blank panel. I then have to just wait for a few minutes before I can see any messages at all! When I am also displaying the message structure, the green panel can sometimes flicker to show the message structure panel for a while. However Kmail has improved drastically and works quite well for me with KDE 4.8 and 4.9. At least this issue I haven't seen for a long time.
