What I tried was: * start yast2 inetd * enable inetd service * turn swat on * save settings I've confirmed (thanks to Firefox version from 10.3) that swat is up and running at localhost:901. I was even able to log into swat and change the configuration. About admind: that is the first service, and is default selected, when i wanted to edit swat, yast wanted to install the admind pkgs, which i canceled. If i use the Yast2gui in 11.0A2, it does not save the enabled state. If i open it again, it is disabled again. That was why i wanted to edit swat, because it did not work. I did not manualy edit xinetd. But i'll try your suggestions, and report back here. SUSE has changed the content of that file recently, Alpha1 contains: --- /etc/services --- .. swat 901/tcp # CONFLICT, not official assigned! .. --- /etc/services --- We have been discussing this internally and according to my information there shouldn't have been problems. Only obsolete services should have been dropped... As a workaround, you can add the line mentioned above to your /etc/services file or you can change your /etc/xinetd.d/swat configuration file and replace "swat" with "smpnameres" -- that's the original port name assigned to port number 901. --- cut --- # SWAT is the Samba Web Administration Tool. service smpnameres { ... } --- cut --- This solution is only a workaround and I'd expect netcfg RPM to solve it for SUSE. On the other hand, a logic solution for SWAT would be to ask IANA organization for a port assignment. * /etc/services belongs to netcfg.rpm * /etc/xinetd.d/swat belongs to samba.rpm Here are the currently assigned port names to port numbers: http://www.iana.org/assignments/port-numbers -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
