Sort of fixed for me too. Upon login, it will first show the connection could not be established, followed after a few seconds by a message that the connection was established. Previously, it would only show the last message. I don't think this really fixed things.

I made the same observation while testing the patch (see my comment above: https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1079672#c34), but after a reboot the issue never showed up again. I always see only the message "connection established".
