That works properly, but if you choose a circle diagram, the picture disappears and is empty. Only the legend you see. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Cells formatting for numbers, then input some numbers. 2.Building a diagram, first you see the proper bars in the picture (standard). 3.Choosing some circle diagrams, here you see the faults. If so, I can't reproduce it here. Is there a document you can share with us? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=583875 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=583875#c2 --- Comment #2 from Michael Lanczak <esddss@t-online.de> 2010-03-01 21:28:45 UTC --- I have once more tested this case: Here a little, simple example (for OpenOffice.org Calc 3.1.1 with the info data OOO310m21(Build 9319) Build 3.1.1.4 , German version): First I format the cells column A AND column B with some rows as text, then the cell column C with some rows as numbers. Then I enter the data: A B C legend1 10,60 legend2 20,40 legend3 15,50 SUM TOTAL 46,50 At this point is a danger for a user error(!): The cell 'SUM TOTAL' ranges from column A to B. The column cells after legend1, legen2, legend3 are empty. If you mark all cells from A to C and call up the diagram function with the menupoint 'Insert' or the corresponding button at the top you get first the correct picture with the balks (bars). If you change to pie chart, you see nothing. The user irritating is, that you have empty cells in column B: So you are able to build balks (bars), but no pie charts (circle diagrams). If you move the numbers of cell C to cell B (with first formatting them to numbers and line break function for A), you get all diagrams correctly, pie charts too! -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Now I see what's going on. Let me explain what's happening there. When you select bar chart, it actually takes both column B and C since bar charts allow multiple data series to be displayed. But because column B is empty, it leaves empty space. As a test, Fill in some values in column B, and you'll see additional bars sprouting. In pie chart, you can only select one data series, which in this case is column B. And because column B is empty, you'll get empty pie chart. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If you only need to select column A and C while skipping column B, you can do that by ctrl-selecting column A and C, then create a chart. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
