Tried to add compat-wireless from Factory repository
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/driver:/wireless/openSUSE_Factory/
but it seems files there are for 2.6.30 kernel
Can you please update compat-wireless files there for OpenSUSE 11.4 / Factory? Or advise on other steps to debug this and other problems for wireless adapters.
If you run factory, there is no need for compat-wireless, hence it is disabled to be built for factory. So this looks like a problem in upstream. Could you try kernel-vanilla from factory and if it occurs there, please report a bug at http://bugzilla.intellinuxwireless.org/ More likely they will debug iwl issues faster than we. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

See in particular comment https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=640612#c26 from John W. Linville I can just add that problem was not fixed (and pretty much visible) in Fedora 14 final (release). So I do not think problem is specific to OpenSUSE. Would take a look at http://www.intellinuxwireless.org/ later. Infor on main page says: Note The iwlwifi driver has been merged into mainline kernel since 2.6.24. If you are using kernels after this release, please use the intree (drivers/net/wireless/iwlwifi) driver directly. Are you sure bugs still need to be reported at http://bugzilla.intellinuxwireless.org/ ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Yes, that's about code, not bugs.

It seems none is using Intel Wireless? I have finally setup where can test peak throughput from Wi-Fi, copying file from NAS. Transfer speed is much higher comparing to copying from another PC/notebook - about 40MB/sec. on copying from NAS to local disk (Ethernet 1Gig connection).
