I'm using i3 and rotate monitor which I rotate using xrandr --output DVI-1 --rotate left This command crashes X and I get back to the login screen (gnome login) Let me know if I can provide any log files. I'm not sure which ones would be helpful. Did you try if it happens in any other desktop environment as well? The attached Xorg log doesn't contain any information about crash or termination - it is possible that xserver died without a chance to write anything, but it could be also that the log got overwritten by the restarted X. The old log is then moved to /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old. Just tried the command again in i3 and in gnome and in both I get thrown back to the log in screen. The rest of the file looks normal, e.g. Modelines and pretty much things I have seen in the Xlogs. I also saw on https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_debug_Xorg_problems to add drm.debug=14 and log_buf_len=16M, should I try that or other options? Attached is the journalctl -r output from that logger-mark onward. GLib-GObject: g_object_unref: assertion 'object->ref_count > 0' failed shows up on line 858. Line 1-835 seems to be the startup of the new gdm, but I left it...
