[Bug 621237] New: kdebase4-workspace: overrides application defaults
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=621237 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=621237#c0 Summary: kdebase4-workspace: overrides application defaults Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: jengelh@medozas.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Blocker: --- I have replaced /usr/share/X11/app-defaults/XTerm.ad and XTerm-color.ad with my own variant. Now I notice that in, and only in kde4 — xfce etc are unaffected —, starting xterm does not obey these settings. In particular, I set forth in them that *VT100*background: #000000 *VT100*foreground: #AAAAAA Within kde4 however, starting xterm yields a terminal with white background and black text. Digging deeper results in $ xrdb -query | grep -i backg xterm*background: #ffffff xterm*foreground: #141312 I figure this comes from /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdisplay/app-defaults/XTerm.ad which reads: xterm*background: WINDOW_BACKGROUND xterm*foreground: WINDOW_FOREGROUND Where is WINDOW_FOREGROUND now defined? This maze of settings and overriding things is quite obnoxious. I really think kde's app-defaults should vanish. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It's a consistency thing. from http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2012-04/msg00656.html => Worksforme -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
