[Bug 762881] New: All attempts to connect to WebDAV with Nautilus fail
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=762881 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=762881#c0 Summary: All attempts to connect to WebDAV with Nautilus fail Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: roger.luedecke@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=491418) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=491418) Screenshot showing how information was entered and the error shown. User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0 I'm attempting to connect to WebDAV using Nautilus. This is crucial for me to work with my webhost. I have googled this, and tried everything I can come up with to no avail. Secure (SSL) and insecure both fail. There is a litany of errors. This is apparently a well known and common problem. After figuring out the correct way to enter the information, Nautilus gives the error "Not a WebDAV eneabled share." Reproducible: Always Expected Results: I expected this to work as painlessly and simply as FTP. On a side note, can I achieve the same result with FTP? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I can use the webdav service from getfreecloud.com without any problem. The url of the webdav service is "https://getfreecloud.com/files/webdav.php", and my setting is Server: getfreecloud.com Port: 443 Type: HTTPS Folder: /files/webdav.php If I input the wrong folder, nautilus also complained "Not a WebDAV eneabled share". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

As Gary pointed out: filezilla uses ftp / sftp to connect to sites, not webdav. Were you also connecting on port 2078 using filezilla to this site? Can you maybe paste a screenshot of filezilla configuration and connection? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in openSUSE since the time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a current, supported openSUSE version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly reopen this bug and move it to the tested version of openSUSE. Truly yours. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
