[Bug 756777] New: Please drop xstroke from the default GNOME Live-CD pattern
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=756777 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=756777#c0 Summary: Please drop xstroke from the default GNOME Live-CD pattern Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Live Medium AssignedTo: coolo@suse.com ReportedBy: badshah400@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0 Hi! Dropping the (now unmaintained for about 10 years) package xstroke from the default LiveCD patterns was discussed during the 12.1 cycle [1] and as far as I understood generally agreed upon. Unfortunately it is still a part of a default install frmo the GNOME LiveCD for 12.2. Please note that this is a request to drop it from the default pattern only, not from factory altogether. The application contributes little or no value to desktops and laptops but gets installed on both if openSUSE is installed from a LiveCD. Further it contributes an icon in the gnome-shell that is just painful to look at. CC'ing Stephan as the maintainer of patterns on openSUSE. The application is likely pulled in as part of the REST-CD pattern where it is bundled with other "laptop stuff" // laptop stuff irda pcmciautils wpa_supplicant xstroke // bnc#480879 crda wireless-regdb iw Thanks.
