https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800354 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800354#c0 Summary: Choosing not to install a bootloader results in install-time errors messages Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 12.3 Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader AssignedTo: jsrain@suse.com ReportedBy: jeremy.figgins@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 I have a system with multiple drives and a bootloader installation that I'm happy with. I went to install OpenSUSE 12.3 beta 1 and I didn't want to install a bootloader, so I made sure that the install locations for the bootloader were blank. During the install, the system tried to install the bootloader without a valid destination which resulted in a couple of ugly error messages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: In the installation summary, choose the bootloader option and erase all of locations under installation location. Actual Results: Midway through the install process, the system attempts to install the bootloader without a valid destination, resulting in two error messages. Expected Results: If the user chooses not to install a bootloader, they should be presented with a warning about the system being possibly unbootable prior to the installation. During the installation, the system should not try to install the bootloader. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
