[Bug 909248] New: MozillaFirefox-34.0.5-1.94.3.i586 crashes on start
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=909248 Bug ID: 909248 Summary: MozillaFirefox-34.0.5-1.94.3.i586 crashes on start Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: i586 OS: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Firefox Assignee: bnc-team-mozilla@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: Ulrich.Windl@rz.uni-regensburg.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- After installing the update MozillaFirefox-34.0.5-1.94.3.i586, firefox no longer starts (with my previous profile), but crashes. Using a new profile, it does not crash, and using -safe-mode also works. But I consider both not to be an option. To make things worse, "Yast2 sw_single" crashes when trying to revert to the previous version of Firefox. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

To make things worse, "Yast2 sw_single" crashes when trying to revert to the previous version of Firefox.
That's solved: If you select the "remove Firefox 34.0.5", YaST crashes; if you select "downgrade ..." it works. So I went back to the previous version (MozillaFirefox-33.0-1.90.1.i586), and everything works again! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Any more information than "it crashes"?
It means the crash reporter pops up immediately, even before you see any Firefox window, and I've sent at least two crash reports. I have no idea where it actually went. Is there a local copy, maybe?
One of the most common crash reasons just to play some lottery: Do you have tracker-miner-firefox installed?
From the terminal output of "-safe-mode" I captured this: 1418215746983 addons.update-checker WARN Update manifest for susefox@opensuse.org did not contain an updates property 1418215747135 addons.update-checker WARN Update manifest for
That name rings a bell, but I think SuSE once installed it, so maybe SuSE should take care of removing it if it causes crashes. trackerfox@bustany.org did not contain an updates property 1418215747921 addons.update-checker WARN Update manifest for {972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd} did not contain an updates property -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

So I guess I was right :-( (again) Please remove that package manually for now and verify if everything works again. If so, please mark this bug duplicate to bug 908892 and I'll check with the tracker maintainers what to do about it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
