[Bug 213942] New: xfig exporting erroneous eps files
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=213942 Summary: xfig exporting erroneous eps files Product: SUSE LINUX 10.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: eckert@gmxpro.de QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com I made a drawing with xfig 3.2.3d (from an old suse 8.2) and use it now under xfig 3.2.4. When I export it as "Combined PS/LaTeX (both parts)" this results in an output of an erroneous eps/pstex file. The same .fig-file exported with xfig 3.2.3d is Ok. Compared to this correct file the bounding box and size of the erroneous eps/pstex file is zero (%%BoundingBox: 0 0 0 0, %%Magnification: 0.0000). With some experiments I found out that this problem occurs, when the value "Magnification %" in the 'Export menu' is set to a value <100. A value 100-199 has no effect on the export (like 100%), a value >=200 results in a drawing with double size and so on... It looks like the value "Magnification %" is processed in the wrong way. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

The resulting fig file is identical with xfig 3.2.4 and xfig 3.2.3d. Nevertheless I've tried the file created with xfig 3.2.3d. Now I've tried to export within xfig 3.2.4 with Magnification 90% and 111% and the resulting pstex file does reflect this. Please note that xfig calls the program fig2dev from the transfig package. The call which is used by xfig 3.2.4 for fig2dev from transfig 3.2.4 is e.g.: fig2dev -j -L pstex -m 0.900000 -b 0 -n harry.fig harry.fig harry.pstex and the result is identical from what I get with the help of the export menu of xfig 3.2.4. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=213942 ------- Comment #2 from eckert@gmxpro.de 2006-11-15 09:23 MST ------- I use the export to "Combined PS/LaTeX (both parts)" resulting in a pstex and a pstex_t file. To simplify testing I made a second try only exporting a single .eps file, showing the same problem. But the export with fig2dev on commandline works correctly, so I think xfig passes the wrong value for -m to fig2dev, e.g. a value of 0 for settings <100%. When using -m 0 on the commandline for fig2dev, I get the same erroneous result as with xfig export and mag. < 100% ... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
