[Bug 1079225] New: k3b filenames only on first project tab

http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1079225 Bug ID: 1079225 Summary: k3b filenames only on first project tab Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.3 Hardware: 64bit OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Applications Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: brunomcl@yahoo.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- When creating or opening two or more projects in K3b, only the first project tab show the filename column. All subsequent ones only show type and size columns. This happens with both Oss and packman versions. There's no bug report on this at kde.org, at least since the end of 2016. Deleting ~/.config/k3brc resets the interfaces but the problem persists. Changing the default app style from breeze (the default, I think) to Oxygen fixes the problem. Tested with both Breeze and Oxyzone desktop styles, so I'm thinking this may be an openSUSE issue, not KDE. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I don't follow your reasoning. Why should it be an openSUSE issue because of that? The desktop style shouldn't have any influence here anyway. Apparently it's a problem with the (upstream default) breeze widget style then, if switching to Oxygen helps... I cannot reproduce that here though (with the breeze widget style). What exact type of projects are you creating? Maybe a screenshot would help. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I should add that I use the latest Qt5, KDE Frameworks5 and Plasma5 versions here, it might be something that's fixed in newer versions of one of them. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

That indeed only happens with breeze, not oxygen. It expands automatically though to the previous size as soon as I add a file. Is that what you experience? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I've just tried now, and if the column is there it is so small as to be imperceptible. But yes, adding a file to the project makes the name column appear. Also if you resize the window or drag the vertical separator between the folder and files panel, even on an empty project. My bad for not testing it further - I saw this when opening multiple project files (in full screen) that I didn't need to modify, so I never tried dragging/resizing/changing the project. My apologies if this wasn't the right place to post the bug, I assumed, since breeze is the default theme, that it might have been something related to a KDE/Plasma + Breeze combination peculiar to openSUSE. I asked first at the forum but got no reply. Given that this is a very small issue, easily worked around, I'd say it's not worth bothering with. Thank you for your time, Best regards. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Most importantly, of course, was the lack of a bug report about this on kde.org, which I forgot to mention. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Indeed, as it is just a minor cosmetical issue, I don't think an update for Leap 42.3 is really necessary. (and 42.3 is nearly EOL now anyway...) Closing as WONTFIX therefore. Leap 15.0 should have the fix though, and I cannot reproduce the problem anymore here with the latest upstream versions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Packman does offer the latest upstream version (18.12.2 at the moment) for Leap 42.3 anyway though. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
