Starting nm-applet from the prompt delivers the following : g24504@hqvm000261:~> nm-applet ** (nm-applet:3616): WARNING **: <WARN> applet_dbus_manager_start_service(): Could not acquire the NetworkManagerUserSettings service. The changelog for this version contains : Wed 03 Sep 2008 14:00:00 CEST lnussel@suse.de - hook into ConsoleKit for at_console support - only require selinux for > 11.0 I am running ConsoleKit-0.2.10-43. What I am currently wondering is if my user should belong to the group console ? In the past this was not the case, but maybe with the recent change in dbus-1 ?? I discovered that since the last update I also had problems with the Alsalib, which was due to not being part of the group Audio. Please advice ? Thanks Regards Raymond -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I updated to the latest Factory on the 8th and after this many problems occurred because of the missing libpangocairo. At that moment I had to recompile a couple of libraries in order to get things straighten out. However on that the remaining bug was that nm-applet and knetworkmanager did not function anymore under a normal userid. I adjusted the dbus-1/system.d conf files for them in order to be able to download the necessary sources for the missing libraries. I guess that I forgot to retest after installing libpangocairo, but I can't also really imagine that this had anything to do with this problem. However the problem has been resolved as it is now correctly working. Thanks for the assistance. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
