https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=384569 Summary: When installing VMware tools vmware-config-tools.pl complains about the gcc version being used Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Development AssignedTo: pth@novell.com ReportedBy: p.verberne@s-hertogenbosch.nl QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer # vmware-config-tools.pl .. Your kernel was built with "gcc" version "4.3.1", while you are trying to use "/usr/bin/gcc" version "4.3". This configuration is not recommended and VMware Tools may crash if you'll continue. Please try to use exactly same compiler as one used for building your kernel. Do you want to go with compiler "/usr/bin/gcc" version "4.3" anyway? [no] When answering "yes" to this question the script continues and compiles all needed modules without any problem. If the vmware script can't determine the version correctly it's up to Vmware to fix this. So please report it to Vmware. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
