s2ram Machine is unknown. This machine can be identified by: sys_vendor = "Sony Corporation" sys_product = "VGN-SZ71XN_C" sys_version = "J002XBPG" bios_version = "R0121S5" See http://suspend.sf.net/s2ram-support.html for details.
I also tried s2ram -f s2ram -f -a 1 -m s2ram -f -p -m with these option my laptop suspends, but does not resume - probably it is not able to resume nvidia card. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

(And this _is_ an enhancement request, please do not change severity). Well, guys, this is your project and it is up to you how you want to handle bug reports. I wonder, where is OpenSUSE definition of enhancement. Bug usually means, that some feature is implemented, but does not work, while enhancement means, that feature can be extended by new capabilities.
Suspend is very basic feature for notebooks. I was Windows user few month ago, and I did shutdown only 1 per month. I simply closed the notebook and went home. Suspend and resume just worked. Now in OpenSUSE it does not work and it is interesting, that I don't know any single person using Linux & suspend. Experienced Linux users (which I know) don't use it, because it does not work. I don't blame you, that it is your fault that s2ram has bugs. I understand, that you need more information, that it depend on HW configuration etc... Simply it is complex bug. But I don't understand, why do you insist on enhancement. I doubt, that MS would ever release windows without suspend support. It would be show stopper for them. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
