[Bug 1208188] New: [Build 20230212] plasmashell crashes
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1208188 Bug ID: 1208188 Summary: [Build 20230212] plasmashell crashes Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: i586 URL: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/3115089/modules/open suse_welcome/steps/8 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: dimstar@opensuse.org QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: openQA Blocker: Yes ## Observation openQA does not get over the 'first boot' screen and detects plasmashell crashes. This seems so far to be limited to i586 builds of Tumbleweed openQA test in scenario opensuse-Tumbleweed-LegacyX86-DVD-i586-kde@32bit fails in [opensuse_welcome](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/3115089/modules/opensuse_welcome/steps/8) ## Test suite description TIMEOUT_SCALE property is added to avoid sporadic shutdown fails in kde@USBboot_64 scenario. Added by : oorlov; Related ticket: poo#37000 ## Reproducible Fails since (at least) Build [20230209](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/3109362) ## Expected result Last good: [20230208](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/3106470) (or more recent) ## Further details Always latest result in this scenario: [latest](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/latest?arch=i586&distri=opensuse&flavor=LegacyX86-DVD&machine=32bit&test=kde&version=Tumbleweed) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1208188 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1208188#c1 Dirk Weber <d_werner@gmx.net> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |d_werner@gmx.net --- Comment #1 from Dirk Weber <d_werner@gmx.net> --- I am usually not using plasma on my 32 bit installs but icewm (and xdm, because sddm and lightdm also not working for longer time, probably due to missing sse2 on my machine). So in order to get some information about this new openQA failures I tried to start a plasma session with snapshot 20230208 and plasma kept crashing, too. Therefore I am wondering why plasma could still be started successfully in openQA with snapshot 20230208. Snapshot 20230209 with which more openQA test cases started to fail related to plasma than before according to the snapshot announcement contained the glibc update: ==== glibc ==== Version update (2.36 -> 2.37) But if this would be the culprit it is almost unlikely that the startup would get so far at all. Were there some other changes in the environment (virtualization host) or did the openQA tests change between snapshots 20230208 and 20230209? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

openQA changes are very unlikely - as restarting tests of 0208 (the last published one results in a 'working session' while snapshot 0212 on the same day failed to launch https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/3114091#step/opensuse_welcome/9 (the test did not pass, but for completely unrelated reasons to this bug - all graphical tests were ok in that run -> no QA changes expected) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
