The apper plasmoid itself does show the downloading progress. As you can see in the attached pkmon output, there is only progress for the item (when updating) not the whole transaction. You can also notice that refresh-cache transaction properly set's the transaction progress. So the used libzypp backend does not report a transaction progress.
