[Bug 1134719] New: Networkmanager slow to bring up wireless "No secrets were provided"
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1134719 Bug ID: 1134719 Summary: Networkmanager slow to bring up wireless "No secrets were provided" Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: erbenton@comcast.net QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- I have a problem with Networkmanager: when I login, it tries to connect to my WiFi network, hangs for about a minute or so and then I get two notifications saying Connection deactivated, No secrets were provided. Then I get a 'Connection has been Activated' message and we're back to normal. This happens every boot. I can make this work properly if I change my network settings to store secrets unencrypted but I don't like that idea at all and it should not be necessary. I'm using NetworkManager under KDE with kwallet installed and my connection is a static IP with IPV6 disabled. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

It might be related to an issue that is fixed in Leap 15.1, can you try to reproduce the issue there?
I have the same problem with Leap 15.1 (and never had it before with leap 42.3). Some time (longer than in 43.2) after the login I'm requested to enter the wallet password. But no connection is estabilshed. When going to "Network connections setup" (the right click at the network icon) under the WiFi security tab I see that no password is present even so I have stored an encrypted password for the WiFi connection. In the log journal I see lines with: "plasma-nm: bool SecretAgent::processGetSecrets(SecretsRequest&) const Waiting for the wallet to open". After several minutes the WiFi connection is established (this means the wallet has been opened, and under the security tab (see above) the password shows up. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
