What version of uGet are you using?

You couldn't find a config file? I'm not sure what you mean. All of the files in ~/.config/uGet are config files. Make a backup of all the files in the folder and then delete them all...(keep the folder entirely but delete the files in the folder)
There is no uGet folder in my ~/.config. I don't now why.
